Chairmans NotesI hope that Christmas brought you everything you wanted, well we can dream! A brief news this time to remind all of the forthcoming AGM which we hope as many members as possible will attend. I look forward to seeing you there.BKIA Annual General MeetingThe date for the AGM has been arranged for Thursday 29th January at 2.00pm. The agenda has been mailed out (copy below) and there are 2 items for AOB. The first concerns bodywork over which there seems to be at least clarity required. The second is a question posed regarding the MSA and its position over karting. One of the major agenda items is as usual the election of your committee so it is important that have a good attendance to make sure that members views are properly represented. Please try and make it. AGM Agenda 1. Apologies for absence 2. Minutes of the last annual meeting 3. Matters arising 4. Chairman’s report 5. Administrator’s report 6. Accounts 7. Confirmation of fees 8. Election of Committee 9. Any other business (see above) 10. Date(s) of next meeting(s) TKM Extreme Latest News (13.01.2004)‘TKM EXTREME CLASS UPGRADE BANG ON TARGET’ Conversions for the new Formula TKM Extreme engine are now well under way at Tal-Ko Racing with upgraded engines being released this week. Exactly on schedule the first production batch of new pistons, gudgeon pins and piston rings arrived at the Bedfordshire headquarters of Tal-Ko on Monday with all orders of pistons for dealers immediately fulfilled and despatched. Tal-Ko had themselves already bored dozens of barrels ready for the new pistons and final completion of engines. Final specification for the small modifications allowed to the cylinder head were released before Christmas. Hundreds more pistons and their associated components will be delivered in over the next few weeks to ensure a generous stock of spares in time for the start of the new class on February 1 and Super 1 national championships which start in March. New engines to the Extreme specification will be released next week which will mean that all orders have been fulfilled exactly as promised by the company as part of its introduction plans. Tal-Ko Racing Managing Director Alan Turney said: “As of this moment we have fulfilled every single order for pistons. There is no reason why anyone should have any problem being out racing for February in the new format. “If anyone has any doubt over the latest regulations and the Extreme conversion then these are available from our web site – www.tal-ko.com.” Membership ListChassis manufacturers should note that full membership is an ongoing requirement for TKM and Cadet classes. I guess that MSA and TKM will soon be chasing those not yet renewed. BKIA Web Site We are very close now to going on line. Apart from general information about the BKIA there is a members directory to enable enquirers to locate members. Comer W60 Cadet Engine OilIn case you have not yet seen details the oil to be used must be synthetic (for emissions control) to the JASO FC specification. This spec appears on the majority of performance 2 stroke synthetic products so it should not be difficult to source. If you need help please let Paul Gladstone know. |
